8th Edition, 2021/2 – “Everyone’s a Champ!”

The Kindred Spirit Series is a nexus for athletes who share the spirit of and dedication to the ethical values of sport. It’s an occasion to celebrate and rededicate their commitment to these human values that sport serves as an excellent developmental vehicle for, particularly among the young.

Club ZOOM’s commitment, in training and competition, to upholding our 12 Core Values* underscores our fundamental belief that, while winning races is a zero-sum game (there are only three places on the podium), everyone can win at being a champion of values, which will continue to serve us well in life. Hence the theme: “Everyone’s a Champ!”

‘True to the Spirit’ of our commitment to our mission and despite the challenges thrown at us by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are delivering this 8th edition to reward athletes demonstrating steadfast discipline and dedication to their training. They will relish the opportunity to showcase their prowess in an atmosphere of camaraderie and sportsmanship.

We also welcome you to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Club ZOOM’s founding with us.

Club ZOOM announces SUN-DAC as our charitable beneficiary for the 8th Kindred Spirit Series Track & Field Meeting 2021

Club ZOOM is pleased to announce that the beneficiary of the 8th Kindred Spirit Series Track & Field is SUN-DAC.

As a grassroots track & field club serving the community, Club ZOOM recognizes the importance of contributing to the building of inclusive communities in Singapore. We are constantly cognizant that sport holds the potential for mitigating social inequality and we try to channel the transformative power of sport to improving lives wherever possible, in training and competition. Club ZOOM’s signature Kindred Spirit Series of meets has grown in popularity over the years and it offers us an opportunity to direct sponsorships to charitable causes. For the 8th edition of the Kindred Spirit Series, Club ZOOM gratefully acknowledges Huangs Jewelry and Fervent Chambers for their generous donations to our charitable beneficiary SUN-DAC. In the spirit of inclusiveness, one of our Club’s cherished values, this award represents Club ZOOM’s modest efforts in facilitating the support of the less privileged members of our community.

Club ZOOM is a 10-year-old, values-focused non-profit track and field club with a depth of experience in coaching athletes of all ages and abilities.

Whether in training or competition, Club ZOOM always places a premium on the inculcation of our 12 Core Values + Inclusiveness among our coaches and athletes. We believe that while not everyone can stand on the 3-step competition podium, everyone can have the spirit of a champion. A key Club objective is to exercise corporate social responsibility to enable aspirations, specially for needy kids and the elderly. Our Club motto – TRUE TO THE SPIRIT – guides us to seek ways to use sport as a vehicle for inculcating values in daily training and competition.

About SUN-DAC

SUN-DAC was set up in 1990 to provide care for people with intellectual disability in a Day Activity Centre setting. We are a non-profit social service agency that serves and cares for persons with disabilities in 3 centres. We currently serve persons with disability, with varying intellectual, physical, mental, sensory, and learning disabilities. Many of our clients and caregivers are receiving financial subsidies.
