Testimonials

Spent a lovely Saturday evening with our young and athletic runners at Yishun Stadium! 🏃‍♂️ 🏃🏾‍♀️

Despite the heavy downpour, it failed to dampen their enthusiasm and they continued to practice their running drills under the shelter. Many of them shared their aspirations with me, such as becoming a cross country runner or a national sprinter.

It was inspiring to know that Thevandra, one of the young participants, had been putting in hard work and effort in athletics for the past 3 years, which allowed him to get into his secondary school of choice through the DSA scheme. This is the kind of commitment that we witness in all our national athletes, putting in their best, no matter how tough the circumstances are.

A big thank you to Coach Tan Wei Leong, Club ZOOM SG and the coaches for organising these series of Kids Athletics sessions. Other than learning about the running fundamentals, I’m heartened to know that the coaches place a very strong emphasis on instilling values into the children, which is crucial during their current stage of growth.

To our youths out there, sports is not about becoming the champion, but more importantly, doing things you like and enjoying the journey. Run towards your goal and chase your dreams!
