Fundamental Movement Skills Multi-Sports

Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) are the building blocks for movement. They form the foundation for many of the specific motor skills required in sports and physical activities.

Club ZOOM and MatchPlay are pleased to launch a new FMS Competency Test, known as the Motor Assessment Test for Children (MATCH) for the upcoming term. MATCH (Tan & Lim, 2020) is designed with reference from validated international protocols and developed with a Singapore normative database. MATCH will help coaches to identify a wide range of motor competencies from superior motor skills to motor delays or coordination challenges in children aged 2 to 6 years old.

Assessing FMS at a young age allows coaches to identify potential problems and introduce early intervention. Motor development programmes like Kid’s Athletic or Multilateral Multi Sports Enrichment can address these challenges and provide timely support and guidance to children.
